Terry Wiley knows we can have peace AND justice. It is not a choice of one, or the other. He believes the way we bring peace back to our streets is to make sure we have one system of justice for everyone. Not one for people of color and another for white people. Not one for the rich and one for the poor. One system – fair to everyone and protecting everyone.


Terry is currently the Chief Assistant District Attorney. He joined the office in 1989 and has headed the Juvenile Justice division and the division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. He has tried many of the office’s most challenging cases, including the infamous Oakland “Riders” case, holding law enforcement accountable. He has served on the board of the National Black Prosecutors Association, the National Bar Association, the Board of the California District Attorneys Association, and worked with the National District Attorneys Association.
